Tamiya Dewoitine D520 by Graham Green

If you feel like an easy and quick kit to build 'straight from the box'
then this D520 from Tamiya is 'just the ticket'! The fit of the parts in this kit is very good, as is the surface detail and the whole kit was both easy and a pleasure to make. Makes a nice break from vacform models
and resin conversion kits!
I did use different national markings as the colour of the kit roundel and rudder decals are much too dark, both the red and the blue. Luckily there are some good alternatives from AeroMaster and Model Art, the latter being well researched decal sheets (48/002 2a/c of the 'Doret' Group & 48/006 with 3 a/c of the Armè de l'Air ).
The model represents Pierre Le Gloan’s aircraft which was finished in the French three tone scheme. The pattern for this scheme was not clearly defined and varied in its interpretation even when painted on at the factory. When doing this aircraft note that the number 6 on the wing should be outboard of the inner edge of the aileron and not inboard as in the colour scheme on the instructions (REPLIC No 34, June 1994, shows a top view of the aircraft during its career).
