| Osprey New Vanguard 27 Panzerkampfwagen III
1936-1944 ISBN 1-85532-845-3 Bryan Perrett Illustrated by Mike Chappell and Mike Badrocke This 48-page book follows the usual osprey format of good B & W images and text that easy to read and understand. This book covers the Panzer III from Ausf A to N and has sections on the development, special-purpose vehicles, organisation and tactics and a section called PZKPFW III in action witch goes on to cover all the different Theatres of operations from Poland, France North Africa, The Balkans and then Russia. There are no scale plans like other New Vanguard books. The centre 8 pages are of colour plates, with the centre 2 having a cut open view of a Ausf J, each of the colour plates covers a different Ausf with all theatres covered from Poland, France, Russia and North Africa and a page showing the different panzer crew uniforms in the different theatres. The last 3 pages give a description of each of the colour plates. Conclusion: Apart from having no scale plans at all this is an excellent companion to go with the Achung Panzer II book, as it covers most of what is in Japanese in the Achung Panzer.
