Model Bonanza
2004
|
| Our fourth annual show
has proved to be the best ever with attendance approximately
20% up on last year. A new feature this year was the"theme",
which originated as an idea to try and persuade those modellers
who may not belong to clubs to bring models along and put them
on display. |

This year
the theme was the F4 Phantom, and we succeded in attracting
twenty-eight models in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scales. Whilst the
majority of these were actually built by members of various
clubs, we did attract some non-members, including one, who although
living local to the show, had to arrange to have his 1/32 scale
model brought up from Tiverton in Devon on the day before the
show! |

| Space and safety concerns
meant that we were unable to hold an open competition, but we
did award prizes for the best club stand (Warrington IPMS) and
best model in show (a Tamiya 1/35 Dragon Wagon). Awards were
alsomade to Leyland ATC for the best Junior models. |

| A huge thank you must go
to REVELL for their continuing sponsorship of the Make &
Take. They provided 48 snap together kits, which as usual were
eagerly snapped up(sorry!) by some very appreciative young modellers.
We would not be able to run the Make & Take without the
continued support of REVELL and their committment to encouraging
young people to have ago at making modelss cannot go unrecognised. |

I would like to thank all
the clubs and traders who continue to support the event, all
of whom have asked to come again next year. Finally a big thank
you to all the visitors to the show, many of whom travelled
a considerable distance to visit us.
